Ratan J Batliboi completed his Bachelors Degree in Architecture from Sir. J J College of Architecture in 1980, with a First class honors and distinction. Besides this he is also the recipient of various other honors and awards for his academic achievements. RJB is the Chairman, Founder Director and Founding Partner of various Inter-disciplinary Design, Sustainability and Project management firms. He is also on the Advisory board and committees of numerous institutions and volunteer organizations. He lives and practices in Mumbai for over 40 years now, and his firms work on projects and assignments of various scales and complexities across India. RJB believes in an integrated approach to design by challenging conventional beliefs of aesthetics and planning and works in a holistic multi-disciplinary design environment. The design firms pride themselves in having stayed away from a signature style. Constant upgrades have been made to keep up with the latest information in materials, building techniques, technologies and technological products unable to be fully geared up to meet the challenges of today’s context and dynamic design and business environments.

He has been practicing for 28 years with the belief that man responds better to nature than manmade spaces. After graduating from Kolhapur, he started his practice in 1994 as Sunil Patil and Associates. He has designed numerous versatile projects across India, including residential and commercial complexes, industrial buildings, institutional blocks, residential and corporate interiors, and public utility places. In 2010, he expanded his practice in Pune with two other directors and formed Sunil Patil Associates Pvt. Ltd.

She is the founder of an award-winning interior design studio in Tel Aviv. After a successful career in high-tech management, she pursued her passion for design and founded her studio in 2014. Yael specializes in residential spaces, creating unique and functional designs with a rich material palette. Her projects have been featured in top architecture and design magazines worldwide.

He worked with Roberto Migotto before opening his own office in 2008 and has completed projects in Brazil, France, and the United States. Diego's work has been published in many international magazines and books, and he is currently a columnist for Casa e Jardim and Avantto Lifestyle Magazine

He is the founder of Wallmakers, completed his B. Arch in 2005 and started the firm in 2007 with a focus on sustainable and cost-effective architecture using mud and waste as chief components. With the current global climate crisis, Wallmakers aims to build sustainable spaces that are responsive to specific site contexts and conditions, using easily available materials and waste to reduce environmental impact. Their innovative techniques, such as the Debris Wall and the Shuttered Debris Wall, create contextual dream-like spaces while maintaining a balance between design and functionality.

Patricia Viel is a French architect. Graduated in architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1987, she started her collaboration with Antonio Citterio in 1986. In 2000, she joined “Antonio Citterio and Partners” interior design and architecture practice with architect Antonio Citterio – heading architecture design, with a focus on the integration of architecture within the urban landscape. As CEO, Patricia Viel has overseen architecture and interior design projects, while being actively involved in the management of the company – now named “ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel”. The practice operates internationally, developing complex projects, ranging from all scales of intervention, in synergy with a qualified network of specialist consultants. From 2005 to 2012, Patricia Viel was a member of the Board of Advisors of the Istituto Nazionale di Architettura InArch, in Milan. In addition to her work at the firm, she takes part in international panels and conferences as a speaker. In 2021, ACPV produced “The Importance of Being an Architect”, a documentary film conceived as a virtual dialogue and musical journey in four acts, which investigates the responsibility of architects in building the society of tomorrow. The film has been featured in several festivals worldwide and on Sky Arte TV channel.

Deniot's interiors are known for their elegance, drama, and attention to detail, promoting harmony and wellbeing. In addition to interior design, he has collaborated with esteemed brands such as Baker Furniture, Jean de Merry, and George Smith on furniture and lighting collections. Deniot's passion for design and innovation make him one of the most sought-after designers today.

Architect, interior designer, product designer and art director, Paola Navone’s approach is direct, visionary and eclectic with a passion for the flavours and colours of the much-loved and much-travelled southern hemisphere, alongside tastes and styles from the western world with its wealth of tradition, open mindedness and creative energy. All of which has meant a boundless curiosity, seeking out materials, forms and structures, from the present, past and future. Founder of OTTO Studio, the Milan design studio she runs with Gian Paolo Venier, Cristina Pettenuzzo and Domenico Diego, she has curated a vast number of exhibitions worldwide and worked with top names in Italian and international design scene. The many international accolades received include the Osaka International Design Award, several Elle Deco International Design Awards for product design, the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award, as well as a nomination for induction to the Design Hall of Fame received from Interior Design Magazine in New York.

He joined Zaha Hadid in 1988 and was seminal in developing Zaha Hadid Architects to become a 500 strong global architecture and design brand.

Mark Burry is Director of Swinburne University of Technology's 'Smart Cities Research Institute', leading a whole-of-university research approach to ensure future cities meet the needs of all. In 2018 Mark received the Order of Australia (A) for "service to spatial information architecture" and as an innovator in apply- ing digital manufacturing and construction methods and was elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE). Mark is an architect who has published on two main themes: putting theory into prac- tie regarding procuring 'challenging' architecture, and the work and theories of the architect Antoni Gaudí. He has been Senior Architect to the Sagrada Família Basilica Foundation since 1979. In 2001 Mark founded the Spatial Informa- tion Architecture Laboratory (SIAL) at RMIT University before establishing the Design Research Institute (DRI) in 2008. He held an ARC funded Federation Fellowship in Complex Architecture and Convergent Design' 2007-2012. He joined the Universi- ty of Melbourne in 2014 as Professor of Urban Futures at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning.

Sean Godsell was born in Melbourne in Imagining a Place of Faith for the secular world 1960.He obtained a Masters of Architecture degree from MIT University in 1999 entitled 'The Appropriateness of the Contemporary Australian Dwelling! His work has been published in the world's leading Architectural journals including Architectural Review (UK) Architectural Record (USA) Domus (Italy). In July 2002 the influential English design magazine wallpaper listed him as one of ten I people destined to 'change the way we live. He was the only Australian and the only Architect in the group. In July 2003 he received a Citation from the President of the American Institute of Architects for his work for the I homeless. His Future Shack prototype was exhibited from May to October 2004 at the Smithsonian Institute's Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York. In 2015 he was shortlisted for the $450million Sydney Modern project at the Art Gallery of NSW and in 2016 was shortlisted for the National Conservatory at the National Botanic Gardens in Canberra. He received the 2016 DETAIL Prize in Germany for the 2014 M Pavilion.In 2018 he received a Papal Silver Medal for his Vatican Chapel on the island of S Giorgio Maggiore in Venice for the 2018 Architectural Biennale.

Ken Yeang is the Executive Director of T.R. Hamzah and Yeang Sdn. Bhd. He is both an architect and ecologist, known for his authentic innovative, signature eco-architecture and masterplans, that have a distinctive verdant biodiverse green aesthetic, designed based on the science of ecology, functioning beyond accreditation systems. He trained at the Architectural Association School (UK). His doctorate is from Cambridge University on ecological architecture and planning. He has authored over 12 books on green architecture. Awards include the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, Malaysian Institute of Architects Gold Medal, Malaysian Government's Merdeka Award, Architectural Society of China's Liang Sicheng Architecture Prize. He holds the Plym Distinguished Professorship at Illinois University. The Guardian newspaper names him, "one of the 50 people who could save the planet.."

Sanjay strongly believes that every project should be designed contextually evolving spaces that are perceived in new ways. Each design takes cognizes of the climate and integrates sustainability in cohesive way. This ideology is reflected in the extensive work done by the firm in the 3 decades since its inception. Sanjay Puri graduated from the Academy of Architecture, Mumbai in 1988. He worked with Architect Hafeez Contractor throughout the five years of education from 1983 to 1988 and was made an Associate of the firm in 1988 upon graduation. He continued to work there for 4 years more as a Senior Associate prior to commencing Sanjay Puri Architects in 1992.

This competition was Filled with ups and downs. Every time we send a doubt relating to the competition. We can also interact with them personally through their business WhatsApp account, which makes the process even quicker and easier. This Competition has improved our learning process and our design skills. Usually, in colleges we get an entire semester to design a project, however designing a project in a shorter span is always a challenge. Hence, to create a large scale design project has sharpened our skills in designing quicker.

Participating in this Archdais competition was a rejuvenating experience. The captivating challenge of designing a school for visually impaired students and the broader community ignited my interest. The experience was exceptional in its ability to inspire a deeper understanding of the social impact that architecture can have. It served as a reminder that design goes beyond aesthetics and functionality, influencing the way people interact with and experience their surroundings. Archdais's unique brief left an indelible mark on my creative perspective, reinforcing the importance of inclusive and innovative architectural solutions that positively impact both specific user groups and the broader community.

It was a very competitive environment when designing and working on the competition. I researched at every step of the way to ensure that I got my designs right according to the requirements. I delved deep into the psychology and anthropometry of blind students to understand their needs in detail and design a holistic space for them to grow. Translation of the design grammar and vocabulary into the architectural spaces was a crucial step of design, which was reflected in the new typology of the classroom that I designed for the interactive learning that blind children require. Designing a simple school with optimum acoustic character was the challenge. .

About the experience of participation in the 'archdais' competition I would like to say that this is our third time participation and every time we come across a new design challenge we feel extremely excited to work on it as the competition briefs are always innovative and challenging. It has always been very competitive as most of the participants come with very creative ideas and design solutions. With this Vision Beyond Sight competition, it really made us Experience the world from a blind persons perspective.The whole process of our design in which we did a live case study of the blind school and designing from a blind persons perspective has really made us more sensitive towards design and architecture.
