Project Description
Nestled in a secure enclave in North Bangalore, this home stands on a unique square plot, with two sides greeting the road while also embracing the verdant vistas beyond. At its core, the residence is a reflection of a clear directive: a desire for a humble abode, rich in natural light and air. With a prudent budget as the compass, our design journey sought to forge a home that is both compact in footprint yet expansive in feel. Every nook and cranny was meticulously crafted, ensuring the client's needs met a design that champions both openness and intimacy. The open floor blueprint unfurls across two floors, seamlessly weaving together communal spaces - the living and dining areas, the kitchen, and a puja space that exudes a lofty grace, amplifying the home's sense of volume. An arresting feature is the solid wooden railing that coils around the home's central staircase, casting dramatic shadows and playing with light. This interplay continues in the double-height living and dining spaces, where large windows frame picturesque garden views, and glazed skylights bathe the interiors in a soft, natural luminescence. Conscious of the intense southern and western sun, the façade on these sides is deliberately understated, punctuated by slender windows framed by Sadahalli stone chajjas, acting like artful viewfinders to the world outside. A harmonious palette of exposed concrete and pristine white plaster lends the residence a serene aura, both inside and out. Architecturally, the home is envisioned as a series of interconnected cubes, with planes skilfully extruded to craft a visually engaging edifice. These geometric plays not only meld with the environment but also eloquently narrate the home's purpose. In essence, this abode is more than just walls and floors. It's a testament to simplicity, reflecting its occupants' lifestyle, a place where design dances gracefully with function, and where every corner tells a tale of light, geometry, and timeless elegance.
