2What is the competition brief?
The competition brief is a document that explains the design problem you'll be solving. It includes site details, design requirements, and criteria for judging. This document can be downloaded from our website.
3Are multiple entries allowed for submission and can hand-drawn sheets be submitted?
Participants are free to submit multiple entries or projects, but each entry must be registered by a separate email ID. One sheet will have one project only. Hand-drawn sheets are allowed for submission, participants can scan and mail them to us on submission@archdais.com. Follow all the submission guidelines carefully.
4How can I get a discount on the competition fee?
Discounts can be obtained in two ways. Firstly, through a promo code, which is a tool to obtain a discount on the competition fee. It's not mandatory for registration, but it can help reduce the cost. You can get a promo code either from an Archdais influencer or by writing to us at competition@archdais.com. Secondly, if you are registering a group, a discount is available for a minimum of five teams. During registration, continue adding teams and their information using different email IDs for each team registration. If you encounter any issues while availing this discount, please write to us at competition@archdais.com with the subject line "Group Discount Query”.
5Where all do the participants need to use their unique team code?
All the participants would be using their team code on the top right corner of their sheets, as the name of their submission and wherever requested by the organizer. This code will be their only identification for the process related with this competition. Kindly read the submission guidelines given in the brief carefully.
6Is there an entry fee for the competition?
Yes, participating in the competition does require an entry fee. Archdais.com is a community-supported platform and the entry fees help us manage competitions sustainably. 8How does a team receive their unique Teamcode code?
All the participants will only receive the unique teamcode on completion of the registration process.
9What is the height & minimum area of the pavilion to be considered?
The total built up area of the pavilion shall be 1000 square meters. Height of the structure is allowed up to 15 meters, above the ground level.
10How many people should we consider while designing the Pavilion?
Participants must design the pavilion for minimum 500-700 visitors at a time.
11What are the functions that must be considered for the project?
The Place of Faith must have a common prayer hall for all users, Library and Learning spaces and community gathering spaces (for meals, congregations). The project must be treated as a community common, completely public in nature. Participants are encouraged to add to the programme as deemed fit with a strong reasoning. The proposed design is expected to have a mix of open and semi open spaces and other technical considerations like services, parking can be ignored.
12Where is the site for the pavilion located?
The site for the pavilion is proposed within the historic Oval Maidan. There is no specific site plan given for the pavilion and participants are free to choose a site anywhere within the Oval Maidan. The pavilion must accessible and barrier free.
13What is the judging criteria for this project?
Participants will be judged on the following criteria: Design Expression, X Factor, Completeness & Representation.

16What is the limit or cap on the number of team members and can anyone participate individually?
A team can have up to 3 members and cannot exceed this number. The participants who desire to participate individually can do so by filling and submitting the details for the team leader.
17Can I change team members after I register?
Teams are welcome to add any new members as long as their total members do not exceed 3. However they are prohibited from swapping or removing any existing member of the team. To do this please send us your request on competition@archdais.com with the details of the new team member along with the team Unique Teamcode.
18What are the modes of submissions?
The participants are requested to submit their work through mail on submission@archdais.com in A1 size sheet in 150 DPI resolution formats. All the submissions will be taken digitally only.
19What should be the submission file size?
The file size should not exceed more than 10MB.
20What file name should be given to submission material?
The participants are requested to submit the files with their unique team code as its name. Follow the submission guidelines given in the brief carefully.
21What unit system should any participant adhere in case if anyone wants to show dimensions?
The participants are free to use any one of imperial or metric unit systems.

23What would the size of the sheet be?
The participants are required to use an A1 sheet i.e. (841 x 594 mm), (33.1 x 23.4 inch). The sheets must be composed in Landscape orientation, with the Unique Team Code on the top right corner.
24What should the participants do in case the payments are not available in our country?
We request the participants to send us the queries on competition@archdais.com to get an alternate payment method. We would send you all the possible payment methods.
25What does the participant do when they don’t get a unique identification code after the payment is made?
In case of such a problem we request you to send us screenshot of your payment receipt to competition@archdais.com with the “unique identification code” as subject matter within two working days of the transaction.
26Are hand-drawn sheets allowed for submission?
Yes, they are allowed, participants can scan and mail them to us on submission@archdais.com. Follow all the submission guidelines carefully.
27Will all the participants will receive certificates for being part of the competition?
All the participants will receive digital certificates irrespective of the winners.
28What is a promocode? & How to get one? Is it mandatory for registration?
Through Promocode participants can avail discount on the competition fee. You can get it from an archdais influencer, or by tagging 5 friends in any recent post of the competition shared on social media handles of @archdais & @archdais.competitions . It is not mandatory for registration.
29Minimum number of teams eligible for Group Discount? & How to avail?
Minimum 5 Teams or more are eligible for group discount. Write us on competition@archdais.com with number of teams willing to participate in the Competition. Archdais Team will guide you with the procedure.
30Is brown field or heritage site development allowed?
There is no given site for project and participants are free to choose a site deemed fit. Participants must choose site with any context that is accessible and allows the design to become a hallmark for society. The design must be integrated into the choose site's context.
31In the design do we have to show interiors in Detail?
Interiors are always a plus, but it completely depends on the participants & their design. (No Compulsion)
32Can the site be over a water body?
The site can be above a water body, but should be easily accessible to all the users.
33As people would be coming from all over & praying, should the idols or pictures of gods be displayed?
The program should be developed and added by the participants themselves. The space should be Sacred without being religious. The brief is open for interpretation.
34Do we have a maximum site area limit?
There is no limit for maximum site area, but minimum area required is 2500 Sq.m
35Do we have to provide accommodation for visitors coming from all over the world?
Living spaces for visitors (National and International) can be added to the program, but it's not a mandate. Participants are free to add the program with proper justification.
36Can it be a temple of a god which we in particular pray?
The project should not be designed for any specific religion or deity. It's a place where people can come together irrespective of their religion. It should be a place of faith for the secular world.

38What is this competition?
The brief of the competition is to imagine a place of faith for the secular world, a place that allows the users to have the same experience as that of a sacred space. Participants must imagine a space for all with no boundaries, a space with no aspiration of pleasing any one community, a space for humanity.
39Should the floor layout and area calculations be shown in the presentation?
Area calculation break-up is not a mandate, participants can choose to include it if they think it helps explain their design. This being said, all participants have to adhere minimum area requirements as per the brief.
40Is this sacred space for religious purpose?
Participants are encouraged to imagine a typology of space for people of all faiths coming together under a single roof. This place of faith will not be exclusive to any religion and will be a sanctuary for everyone.
41Should the site be a real existing place or can be hypothetical?
The site should be real and should be chosen in a place where the participant thinks the project will have maximum impact.
42Can the space be only a landscape design with shelters?
Participants are free to explore any design that they think represents their idea the best.
