1How does a team receive their unique Teamcode code?
All the participants will only receive the unique teamcode on completion of the registration process.
2Where all do the participants need to use their unique team code?
All the participants would be using their team code on the top right corner of their sheets, as the name of their submission and wherever requested by the organizer. This code will be their only identification for the process related with this competition.
3What is the limit or cap on the number of team members and can anyone participate individually?
A team can have up to 3 members and cannot exceed this number. The participants who desire to participate individually can do so by filling and submitting the details for the team leader.
4Can I change team members after I register?
Teams are welcome to add any new members as long as their total members do not exceed 3. However they are prohibited from swapping or removing any existing member of the team. To do this please send us your request on competition@archdais.com with the details of the new team member along with the team Unique Teamcode.
5What is the nature of the competition and is it open for all?
Future Materials Pavilion, is an open ideas design competition with no intentions to execute the proposals submitted in any form. The competition is open to all and students and professionals can join the competition.
6Are the teams allowed to share their work for the competition before the winners are announced by the organizer?
The participants are only permitted to share their proposal for the competition on social media or any other platform once the winners are revealed officially. Archdais will also publish each submission at this date and will be working with many design platforms to attract publication opportunities.
7What are the modes of submissions?
The participants are requested to submit their work through mail on submission@archdais.com in A1 size sheet in 150 DPI resolution formats. All the submissions will be taken digitally only.
8What should be the submission file size?
The file size should not exceed more than 10MB.
9What unit system should any participant adhere in case if anyone wants to show dimensions?
The participants are free to use any one of imperial or metric unit systems.
10What would the size of the sheet be?
The participants are required to use an A1 sheet i.e. (841 x 594 mm), (33.1 x 23.4 inch). The sheets must be composed in Landscape orientation, with the Unique Team Code on the top right corner.
11What should the participants do in case the payments are not available in our country?
We request the participants to send us the queries on competition@archdais.com to get an alternate payment method. We would send you all the possible payment methods.
12What does the participant do when they don’t get a unique identification code after the payment is made?
In case of such a problem we request you to send us screenshot of your payment receipt to competition@archdais.com with the “unique identification code” as subject matter within two working days of the transaction.
13Are multiple entries allowed for submission? or can we submit multiple projects in one entry only?
Participants are free to submit multiple entries or projects, but each entry must be registered by a separate email ID. One sheet will have a One project only.
14Is there any specific theme to be considered?
We urge participants to come up with their most creative concepts (theme) they have in mind and not get restricted to one. It is open for all kinds of design ideas.
15Are hand-drawn sheets allowed for submission?
Yes, they are allowed, participants can scan and mail them to us on submission@archdais.com. Follow all the submission guidelines carefully.
16Will all the participants will receive certificates for being part of the competition?
All the participants will receive digital certificates irrespective of the winners.
17What is a promocode? & How to get one? Is it mandatory for registration?
Through Promocode participants can avail discount on the competition fee. You can get it from an archdais influencer, or by tagging 5 friends in any recent post of the competition shared on social media handles of @archdais & @archdais.competitions . It is not mandatory for registration.
18Minimum number of teams eligible for Group Discount? & How to avail?
Minimum 5 Teams or more are eligible for group discount. Write us on competition@archdais.com with number of teams willing to participate in the Competition. Archdais Team will guide you with the procedure.
19What is the height & minimum area of the pavilion to be considered?
The total built up area of the pavilion shall be 1000 square meters. Height of the structure is allowed up to 15 meters, above the ground level.
20How many people should we consider while designing the Pavilion?
Participants must design the pavilion for minimum 500-700 visitors at a time.
21Where is the site for the pavilion located?
The site for the pavilion is proposed within the historic Oval Maidan. There is no specific site plan given for the pavilion and participants are free to choose a site anywhere within the Oval Maidan. The pavilion must accessible and barrier free.
22What is the judging criteria for this project?
Participants will be judged on the following criteria: Design Expression, X Factor, Completeness & Representation.

30Is the use of technologically advanced materials like 3-D printed construction allowed, even if it is not developed in India?
Yes, as an ideas competition, there is no restriction on the way materials can be used. Participants can use techniques that have not been developed regionally, but the design of the pavilion and the conceptual thought behind any idea should be responsive to the context and the brief.
31Is it a requirement for the pavilion to be necessarily open or semi-open?
No, there is no specification that the pavilion should be either fully open or enclosed. It is up to the participants’ design, conceptual thought, and spatial experience they wish to evoke.
32What is the aim of this competition?
This competition aims to design a striking and thought-provoking pavilion to start a nationwide dialogue on the urgency to explore sustainable building materials. Thus, the competition is an open ideas competition and purely focuses on creative and exploratory use of materials for the pavilion. Participants are not expected to go into the technical details of construction or manufacture.
